Quail Hollow, Charlotte Home with Bistro Lights
We loved designing and installing a custom outdoor lighting system for this beautiful, new home in the heart of Charlotte, NC. From clean, modern architecture of the home itself to the perfectly manicured firepit to the inviting, poolside pergola, we were able to highlight the best features of this home and property.
Outdoor Lighting Objectives
During the initial design consultation, the homeowners’ lighting objectives were to highlight the architecture of the home and add bistro lights to the firepit and poolside pergola. In the end, we installed a total of 15 low voltage outdoor lights in the front and two sets of bistro lights.

Bistro Lights
The number one way to create an inviting, nighttime atmosphere in an outdoor living space is to add ambient lighting. String lighting or bistro lights have become an extremely popular ambient lighting option recently, and for good reason! Bistro lights are a fantastic way to add charm and create an inviting atmosphere in any outdoor space but specifically in outdoor living spaces.
The following is the initial design rendering for the firepit lighting. The homeowner wanted wooden posts installed on either side of the pathway and for the lights to attach directly to the Crepe Myrtle trees behind the rows of hedges.
The finished project was simply gorgeous!
These are the renderings for the pergola lighting. One of the best things about bistro lights is the versatility. At Limelight, we love providing our customers with options for arranging the bistro lights. While some clients love the clean look of installing lights around the perimeter of a structure or area, other clients prefer a more organic look achieved by crossing strands of lights or creating zig-zag patters. For the pergola, this homeowner selected the first option below.
These lights turned out just as beautiful as the firepit lights. We especially love how the pool reflects the light creating a beautiful mirror effect when the water is still. And the visual movement of the light as the water ripples is gorgeous as well.
